About Us

LAURENTIAN VALLEY 50+ FIT & FEISTY

is a group of volunteers who plan & implement a vibrant 50+ group in Laurentian Valley. We operate as a Recreation Under Council of the Township of Laurentian Valley.  This means we are funded and supported by the Township of Laurentian Valley. We report monthly to Laurentian Valley Township Council and we fall under the umbrella of the Township of Laurentian Valley’s insurance.

We began planning in February 2023 and rolled out our programming in August 2023. In our first year, we had over 500 members join our group and we are still growing to over 600 in our second year. This group is based at the Alice & Fraser Recreation Centre, located in Laurentian Valley, at 1 Henan Road, Pembroke, Ontario K8A6W8.  We also utilize other facilities within Laurentian Valley Township and area for various programs and events.

We offer safe, respectful, and inclusive opportunities to our members. Our programming promotes physical fitness, mental stimulation, and social opportunities. 

Many of our activities occur on a seasonal basis.

The 3 primary programming components are:

  1. Physical Activity – Aging with Confidence
  2. Travel, Recreation, Culture & Entertainment – Laughter is the Best Medicine
  3. Coffee Connections – Maintaining Friendships & Building a Sense of Community

We partner with other clubs, groups, and organizations for each other’s mutual benefit and the benefit of the community.

Our 50+ members have skills, knowledge, energy, and talents to be shared with our community.
